Brown hardwood, compact form with a richly structured front; plain top above six narrow drawers, flanked by two double-leaf doors enclosing divided compartments, with three wide drawers between them as a spatial divider. Cut-out base rail, raised on rounded feet. Attractive, richly decorated brass fittings and edge mounts.

Tibet 19.Jh..

Pine wood with polychrome decoration; the plain top artistically painted with tigers and gazelles in the characteristic landscape of the Tibetan high plateau, framed by a blue cloud band on a red ground. Front with two drawers fitted with metal mounts. Reverse decorated with colorful lotus blossoms and buds on a green ground. Curved legs painted with tiger-stripe patterns in brown and yellow. Upper edge finished with a carved lotus-leaf and meander border.
