Bell metal with dark patina; slightly flared bell body encircled by shallow relief decoration of floral motifs and lotus buds and leaves. Surmounted by a fully sculptural figure of a dancing Ganesha; the elephant head fitted with an eyelet from which a long metal chain is suspended, ending in a curved hook, the chain links in stylized vajra form. An ethnographically interesting relic.

Rare Ritual Ghanta Bell
Tibet, 18th/19th century.
Gilt bronze with an attractive patina; ghanta ritual bell symbolizing impermanence and representing wisdom and the ultimate goal. The round, partly faceted bronze shaft is capped at both ends with a half vajra; together they are regarded as a symbol leading to enlightenment — in a broader sense, path and goal are one.

Gold-toned bell metal with dark patina; flared, stepped bell body surmounted by a fully sculptural figure of a seated Ganesha. The elephant head is fitted with an eyelet from which a long yellow-metal chain is suspended, ending in a curved hook; the chain links are formed in stylized vajra shape.
